CAPA adopts free health verification app Bindle for patrons to use for entry to events

To speed up the health screening process for those attending local performances, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts has adopted a free health verification app.

Starting Oct. 25, patrons will be able to upload their full vaccination status or negative COVID-19 test information to Bindle, a free health verification app, which will generate an event entry pass on their mobile device.

According to a press release, attendees will need only to show their entry pass at the venue, eliminating the need to carry paper verification and identification.

"We look to Bindle as a way to make the patron's experience better," CAPA Vice President of Operations Jason Gay said. "They can do everything at home just by uploading their vaccination information or the results of their test. And so, when they come to the theater, all they have to worry about is opening the app."

Bindle app stores COVID-19 vaccination and testing records

While the use of Bindle is not required, future attendees are encouraged to download the app, set up an account and create their entry pass prior to arrival. The app doesn't require biometrics and no personal health information will be shared with Bindle or the specific venue.

Guests will be able to safely store their vaccination and testing records using the app's "military-grade encryption," allowing personal identity and health information to be privately secured, according to the press release.

Bindle entry passes will be accepted at all CAPA venues, including the Ohio Theatre, Lincoln Theatre, Drexel Theatre, Palace Theatre, Southern Theatre, the Riffe Center’s Davidson Theatre and three studio theaters, as well as select performances at the McCoy Center for the Arts.
